"I took up Pilates six months before my weddng, and had planned on returning to the regular gym after my honeymoon. But here I am three years later, totally hooked and still going to CFM twice a week. I actually continued with the lessons through my entire pregnancy last year - right up until the week before I had the baby. And I swear that's why my body bounced back just a few weeks later. CFM is my one true sanctuary. Going there is the highlight of my week. It's the best thing I could ever do for myself." - T. Mandy, Editor of BFF BRIDAL, NYC
"I kissed my body as it was goodbye when I got pregnant, but I got it back, maybe even better! I got such fast results, and I don't remember my body ever feeling so good." - W. Madden, NYC

Center for Movement in the News!
We're so pleased to let everyone know that Urban Baby, a well-known resource for new parents in New York and San Francsico, wrote a great editorial about CFM. Feel free to visit their web site and connect with other parents and learn more about how you can take care of yourself and your children.
Your can do a quick Pilates workout on your own. Try this routine out for yourself and see how good it will make you feel!
Start with The Hundred:
1) Lie on your back with your arms stretched alongside your body, palms down. Bring the knees into a tabletop position. Lift your head, neck, and shoulders off the floor while reaching the arms hip height. Begin pumping the arms up and down as you extend the legs to a 45* degree angle and squeeze your legs together. Inhale for 5 counts and exhale for 5, pulling your abdominals in. Repeat 10 times
And then move on to the Roll-Up:
2) Lay flat on your back with your legs straight, heels together, toes slightly apart, inner thighs and buttox engaged. You can also keep your knees bent. Pull your abdominals in and up and inhale as you lift your arms up, chin to the chest, and begin to roll up. Exhale as you stretch forward over your legs. Keeping the abdominals engaged, inhale and slowly begin to roll down one vertebrae at a time. Maintain the arms at shoulder height. Exhale as you lift your arms to the ceiling and then back over your head, stretching and lengthening your arms. Repeat 5 times.
3) Begin your leg circles with a stress-releasing hamstring stretch. Lie on your back with knees bent. Extend one leg up to the ceiling and gently pull it toward your chest for a stretch. With the other leg bent or straight, make circles with the extended leg. Keep the body still as the leg circles. Repeat 8 times in each direction and switch to the other leg.
4) Pull the right knee into your chest. Lift head and shoulders off the floor and extend the left leg long and several inches off the floor. Switch ten times.
5) Lie on your back with your knees in a tabletop position and arms straight over your head in line with your ears. Using the powerhouse, slowly roll up and back down to the mat. Repeat 8 times.
We wish you warm and happy holidays and are commited to helping you take your Pilates sessions on the road this winter.
Stay tuned for more weekend workouts!
